"Yonder" is a story that takes
place when a man who received a message from his deceased wife is invited to
the unknown space "Yonder" where he can meet her.
The drama is based on the novel 'Goodbye
Yonder' published in 2011. It is director Lee's first drama production and the
first joint investment between Tving and Paramount+.
Director Lee actually wrote a scenario
based on a novel 11 years ago and gave up, and said that the work to be
released this time was a completely new work.
"There are a lot of SF foreign series
recently, and I wanted to challenge myself in that there is such a work among
Korean novels," he said. "Ten years ago, I boldly covered it because
I was afraid that my lack of skills would undermine the value of the material,
and after a while, I took it out again with a simple mind."
"Modern society is moving toward an era where you have to believe in what is invisible rather than what you see," he said. "Yonder is a cinematic technique that scenes what you can't see in reality and what you have to think."
