PSY

Park Jae-sang, better known by his stage name PSY (read: sai), is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, and producer.

He is locally known for his humorous videos and stage performances, and internationally known for his single "Gangnam Style".

Park Jae-sang was born on December 31, 1977,5 to a wealthy family in the Gangnam district of Seoul, South Korea.6 His father, Park Won-Ho, is the CEO of DI Corporation.7 His mother, Kim Young-hee, owns several restaurants in Gangnam. She studied music at the Berklee School of Music.

In 2001 his debut album PSY from the psycho world was fined and in 2002 his second album was banned from under 18s. Throughout his professional career, he has appeared on various television shows such as Good Sunday: X-Men.

In 2012, he became internationally known for choreographing the dance/electronic music single "Gangnam Style" to become an internet phenomenon. It was the first to exceed 1,000,000,000 views,10 and became the most viewed video on YouTube until July 10, 2017, when it was surpassed by Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again" featuring Charlie Puth. . In addition, it is the video with the most "likes".

On April 13, 2013, he released the song "Gentleman" through social media.

Only in the first five days of being uploaded to the internet, the video clip "Gentleman" received more than 149,659,288 visits, and currently has more than 1,469,790,351 reproductions and approximately 3,843,623 «likes» on Youtube. However, the video became controversial after considering that the dance was a plagiarism of the choreography of "Abracadabra" by Brown Eyed Girls, the original performers. However, PSY had bought the copyright to the particular dance to use as part of the "Gentleman" choreography, as one of the Brown Eyed Girls' members, GA-IN, is the dance partner in "Gentleman".

In 2014, he recorded "Hangover" with rapper Snoop Dogg.

On November 30, 2015, he released the song "Daddy" with the singer CL, from the South Korean group 2NE1 and in just 24 hours it became a resounding success, adding more than 10,000,000 views on YouTube.
