‘Aespa’ will release a new album
Girl group ‘aespa’ will release a new album on May 8, announced its agency SM Entertainment on Friday.
Girl group aespa's upcoming third EP, "My World" will be released on May 8 with a total of six songs.
The quartet recently released “Hold On
Tight” as part of the soundtrack for Apple's original movie “Tetris”.
It has been about 10 months since the
release of the group's second EP “Girls”, which went on to hit the Billboard
200 at No. 3. The EP sold 1.64 million copies in preorders and became the first
album from a K-pop girl group to sell over 1 million in the first week of
sales.
The group was set to drop its first full album in February, but the release was pushed back as conflict over management issues. ‘Aespa’ held its first concert in late February, unveiling 11 unpublished songs.
During the girl group’s first concert,
“Synk: Hyper Line” in February, aespa performed 11 new songs: “Menagerie”,
“Lips”, “2Hot4U”, “Wake up”, “Thirsty”, “I’m Unhappy”, “Don’t Blink”, “Hot Air
Balloon”, “YOLO”, “Salty & Sweet” and “Till We Meet Again”, Though it was
not officially announced, many have speculated that the songs revealed during
the concert will be included on aespa’s upcoming album.
