BLACKPINK delivered a significant message at the UN SDG Moment held on 19.

The 'SDG Moment' is a session held on the first day of the UN General Assembly's High-Level Week, which will be attended by senior stakeholders from all sectors, including the UN Secretary-General, heads of state and global CEOs. This year, a corner has been set up specifically around climate change, and BLACKPINK has added significance by taking the lead in marking its beginning.

"The UN Sustainable Development Goals need the attention of the world," Jenny said, adding that the climate crisis is becoming more and more serious. In order to protect our lives, including beautiful nature and energy, we need to be together right now. With today's choice, our efforts on all global goals may either bear fruit or be thwarted."

"We should not underestimate the impact that individual efforts can produce," says Jisoo, emphasizing that "small efforts will make a big difference." Lisa also said, "We have a greater impact than we think, and we have a responsibility to protect everyone's future. Let's build a better tomorrow with more learning and knowledge."

BLACKPINK was appointed as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG Advocate) about a year ago and is committed to delivering a message on 'climate change action' and 'education' out of a total of 17 main goals by 2023. They are contributing to society in a variety of social initiatives, including being a COP 26 Ambassador and participating in various public interest campaigns. In addition to the activities of its artists,

YG Entertainment has also taken a keen interest in environmental issues and has made various changes for sustainable K-pop. It has been deeply engaged with many of its partners, and since last year it has been using environmental protection materials in the production of albums and MDs by its artists.

This overall effort and major change attempt was the first of its kind in the domestic entertainment industry.
