“Tteokbokki”
“Tteokbokki” is one of the
representative Korean street foods. This food mainly consists of 'tteok'
seasoned with 'gochujang' sauce, red chili powder and various
ingredients.
Rice cakes and 'gochujang' sauceare
used as the main ingredients, but cabbage, onions, hard-boiled egg, fish cakes and
meat can be added as well.
"Tteokbokki" is a food made
by kneading rice or flour into long, round stick (=scylindrical-shaped) and
boiling them in water. It has a chewy texture.
These rice cakes are cooked with ‘gochujang’
sauce. The 'gochujang' sauce is characterized by a spicy and slightly sweet
taste and goes well with rice cakes and ingredients.
